Delivery Update 1/2/22

We got to help so many families today. My mom delivered 65 canisters to families in their community and saved 15 for the families in their compound. She came back and sent me all these photos and said that the people we helped were so grateful. At one point she was crying and told me that one of the older women in the village told her that someone came by with sacks of rice and by the time it was her turn, they ran out of rice so she didn’t get any rice.

My mom asked if it was okay if we did a small push for rice for these families, and I’m going to check with some donors to see if anyone is okay with their donation going to the rice funds. My parents are going to provide for half of the amount. We decided that we would spend a combined $400 on the rice sacks (a large sack of rice costs $40, one large rice sack would feed 10 families and we want to feed 100 families total so I told them our cause would donate $200 for 50 families and $50 extra for the labor for the girls who will be rebagging the rice and my parents [Menez USA] will be matching us).

In any case, here are images of our first delivery. As you can see, there is still visible damage done to these people’s homes and dwellings. They still are without power almost 3 weeks after the storm.

Thank you to The Mantra Co + Kuyawear, Al & Richelle Menez, Cassandra Menez, Krizia Medenilla, and Emile & Xandra McQueen for helping with this delivery!! We really helped a lot of people get something they need to survive.
